Hima-Sella has teamed up with Funkwerk Information Technologies Karlsfeld GmbH to offer the design, engineering, manufacturing, installation and service of Customer Information (CIS) and Public Address (PA) systems to the UK rail market in 2008 and now provides Funkwerk’s UK customers with its experienced project management and engineering capabilities.
Well known for developing, manufacturing and delivering Passenger Information Systems (PIS) in the European public transportation market, Funkwerk’s success in the UK continues, with two projects due for completion this year - delivery of Customer Information Systems to train operators First Capital Connect and Northern Rail.
Active passenger services, optimised control processes, reduced operating and staff costs are gained from sophisticated IT solutions that convert timetable content and actual network data into valuable information for passengers and operators. Technologies are used for urban and public transport, national and international railways and airports.

Funkwerk Kölleda - GSM-R
Another division within Funkwerk, Kölleda specialises in the provision of GSM-R applications and is a leading supplier in Austria and Eastern Europe.
Funkwerk Kölleda is concentrating its vast experience and know-how in the field of GSM-R on the European Train Control System (ETCS) and leading the way in providing GSM-R products which are flexible with regard to the differing radio frequencies currently in use. Hima-Sella is working with Funkwerk Kölleda to introduce their products and expertise into the UK rail market.
